Nice and decorative pen tray designed by Gio Ponti for Ceramiche Joo, Milano 1956. Gio Ponti designed de Beijenkorf in Eindhoven in 1969. This amazing architectural building is one of the most important Buildings from Eindhoven. The building was partly covered with the ceramic tiles that Gio Ponti designed in 1956. The ceramics were made by Ceramiche Joo, Milano. When the building opened in 18 March 1969, only the employees and some VIP clients got a pen tray made of 1 of the tiles used in the building in a brass casing. So there are only a very few of these pen trays made. This example is in very good original condition. Stamped at the side; Eindhoven 18 maart 1969 and the Bijenkorf logo. Hard to find in undamaged condition as this example.
